If you haven't heard about Ferran Adria and El Bulli...you must not be following the "hardcore" culinary scene...
Chef Adria has been heralded as the inventor and Master of Molecular Gastronomy...think Beet Foams, Wasabi laced "raspberry", Parmesan Air...it's lofty stuff, but interesting. For me, it's a bit far reaching from reality, but I can respect his mission.
