Hello there!
Well, at long last, after MUCH tweaking, prodding, playing, and frustration (yes, I learn by doing)...the new Visions Blog format is now here, launched, and you're reading! Using WordPress as a format will give me so many more options to interact with our guests, bring tons of media and cool links, and be much more accessible since I can update from anywhere I have a computer and access!
If you don't know where you are or how you got here (you're at www.blog.visionsbethesda.com btw) and since launching our restaurant last November, we've maintained a blog and tried to update our fans along the construction path, and along with our opening. Now, I do the web design too, and as many of you can attest to, I've learned my craft along the way. (Sorry to those people who I've inadvertantly "re-issued" all my blog posts by mistake...ack!) But, for the most part, we've had a good experience blogging, but really, it's been pretty infrequent. If you care of the technical aspect, I basically had to do any blogging on my Mac, upload it to my hard drive, and sync with my server. Not the end of the world, but in reality, it became a chore, instead of an inspiring option to connect with my readers and restaurant goers.
So geting to it, expect frequet updates of written posts, and also our NEW PODCAST! If you love us in writing, you'll adore us in audio/video! Keep your eye here for the podcast premiere, but my hope is to get the first episode up tomorrow, even if it's just a quick intro. I ALWAYS welcome feedback to cheftony at visionsbethesda dot com and you can of course, subscribe (via Feedburner) to our Feed in the upper right. You can subscribe to our posts and/or comments to any of our content. As well, the PODCAST is another feed. If all of this "feed","posts","subscribe" and "feedburner" stuff makes no sense, take a look at this video..it will make it all normal. It is a Common Craft video about RSS (stands for Really Simple Syndication)..enjoy.
Furthermore...explaining RSS in Plain English...you can find more of this great content at their website...I HIGHLY recommend!
At the end of the day, I hope our guests appreciate my late hours into the night, and take advantage of all the ways to reach us, and please do so! We are happy to hear the good and any bad about your experiences here, and we hope you will return again and again. Have a suggestion for our service, food or wine list? Great! Email me anytime!
Chef Tony
